LIFE FOR ME

You cannot teach someone how to live life.

I always say — “Life is trial and error. You do and learn.”
Life, in its totality is a difficult concept to grasp.

What is life? Why is life? Where is life?
Well, LIFE is all about finding answers to these questions.

What is life?

Life, in literal sense is existence, ability to interact, evolve and function. But what is life in philosophical sense? There are a lot of meanings of the same on internet; life is acceptance, life is pursuit of knowledge, life is fulfilling the purpose. And each of them is true in its own sense. But which one to accept?

Life is what you make of it. It is a race if you chase something for the whole of your life. It is leisure if you spend all of it in exploring the adventures of it. It is pain if you curse your existence based on some horrible experiences in your life. But life is beautiful if, instead of trying to find the meaning of it, you actually be in it. There are a lot of things in everyday life that go unnoticed, which are beautiful and worth appreciating. A person who feels blessed to have a life sees the real power of living. Life might be full of obstacles and pain and heartbreaks and tumbles and suffering but, at the same time, it is full of opportunities and love and blessing and beauty and contentment. The way you see it shapes your life. “You become what you think”. Your perception changes the whole meaning of life, the aspect you want to focus on, the detail you want to remember, the story you want to create. And if you have the power of defining your life and what you become, why not make it a positive one? What’s bad in that? Now, this expression brings to mind a question, more of an argument. “It’s not as easy as you think and say it is.” Well, about that part, I wanna say, life is not easy, living is not easy, surviving is not easy. Existence in itself, is a challenge. But again, that’s the beauty of it. I will put up an example.

A clay set. What do you get when you open it? A dough of clay, some tools and maybe or not, a guide. If you look at it as a box full of emptiness and confusion, you wouldn’t want to start working on the clay. But that’s not how we see it usually, right? We look at it as an opportunity, to create something new, something of our choice and just a thought of the same excites you enough to start doing it already. Think of your life as that clay in the box. A freeform waiting for you to mold it into a new identity. Some of us work on the clay with a vision in our minds, to shape it just like the picture we have in your head or maybe a picture we saw somewhere else and liked it. While the rest of us, just play with it and see where it goes, and sometimes, it brings out the best of our creativity.

Life is similar. Many people work in their life with a vision, of shaping it like a picture they have in their head of a future or maybe a picture of someone else’s future, taking inspiration from it. While some of us just let it flow free and allow our creativity to give it a shape by itself. This, is life. The pursuit of living and doing something, is life. The want to create something, is life. The vision of a future, is life. Life will never be easy because it is not meant to be. It is not a test. It is a consequence of our actions and of actions of those related to us. And consequences, whether good or bad, needs to be faced. For some, these might be a result of what they did for others these might be a result of what others did to them. It is not their fault but there’s nothing they can do now to change what has already happened. The only change that can be made is how they live with it. Yes, life is not always good and pleasant and sunshine and stars, life can also be unfair and unjust and rainstorm and gloominess. But that is what life is. Making decisions, facing consequences, correcting mistakes, learning. Life is a continuous process and it doesn’t stop even when you do. But that doesn’t mean you have to hurry. Everything you do has an effect sooner or later, no action can go nugatory. But you can always control the impact of outcomes. If you ask me, I’d suggest to do something only as long as you can control its impact. If it goes beyond that, it’ll get real hard to control. Fearing this thought, some people try to “learn life”. They try to make every decision in too calculated order so as to “predict” the outcome of it but human mind is not a quantum computer. But what is a relief to know is that its surely more powerful than a quantum computer. So let’s not waste this intelligence in counting the possible outcomes instead of laying out backup plans. You cannot learn life, there’s nothing in life to learn about. Life is a trial and error. Now some people might believe that if they figure out the errors by trying a lot of times and teach it to someone who hasn’t had so many trials, it would protect them from error at all! But that’s very much wrong!

Each one has different trials and very different errors. You cannot teach someone how to avoid mistakes , you can only tell them and they learn this on their own. No matter how much you warn them of the errors you had in your life, people will still fail because it is meant for each one to figure out on their own. That’s how you learn things, that’s how you build experiences. Learning from your own errors and taking inspirations from others’. That is what life is. Trialing and erroring.

Why is life?

I don’t really have any exact answer for this because it just is. It has been there always, since when I was born, when I started questioning the meaning of life, it has always been, just, there. And I don’t really know why is it or if “purpose of life” actually exists but I believe that we make our own purposes in life. It might be working for some while chilling for others but that’s what it is. And those who deny to have a purpose in life just haven’t decided it yet. And it’s not their fault, they just haven’t seen an amazing inspiration yet!
What is the purpose of my life? Well, we’ll talk about it someday else :)

Where is life?

Life is where you want it to be, where you find it’s true purpose, where you feel it’s best suited. Basically, life is where you discover it. Biologically, there’s life all around us, in bushes, in trees, in animals, in yeast, a wide range of it, spread all around us. But the true sense of life is where you get a feeling of belonging. You need not belong to someone or something but it is a feeling that completes you. Belonging-ness is what fills up an empty space in your closet of life. It can be an emotion, it can be a thing, it can be a person, or it can be a place. But it is something that waits for you, living or non-living and something whom you wait for. Something that assures you that you are not alone, something that makes you want to return, that makes you feel connected. Something that makes you feel “whole”. This is where you belong, and this is where life exists.

I believe I have put up my perspective of life. It’s definition won’t stop, not here, not anywhere. Because life is ever evolving. The word “life” might be small and constant and non-living but it holds more than one definition, more than one meaning to it. It has meaning as much as there are lives on this planet or any another planet. A simple word, yet so much powerful. This perspective of life is fascinating and that is my purpose in life, to explore my fascinations, fulfill my curiosity and to give others a sight of my world, my life.
I hope you received a little different outlook to life.

Life : Trial and error?
Life : Journey?
Life : Beauty?
Life : Pain?
